What to do about lost skills during the “Stay-At-Home” weeks

This post by Melanie Gomez on her blog Redefine Special, reflects what I’ve been thinking so well that I had to share. As we are entering our 2nd month of quarantine and physical distancing, this is the time to really “lean in.”

We WILL lean in to something, but what will that something be? Will it be the fear, or the hope? Or if your like me, a combination of both? But no matter how much my human-ness wants to fear the unknown, I can’t help but to remember the promises and lean into the hope! There are so many promises in scripture and I’ve seen Him fulfill so much, even in my own lifetime. And if He did it then, why wouldn’t He do it now? Maybe a better question is… do I even see all the ways that He is already fulfilling His promises and redeeming all things? One thing I’ve noticed is that I can do harder things that I thought possible just a few short weeks ago. I definitely didn’t think I was capable of handling something like this but here we are… putting one foot in front of the other. Even those who are suffering on a much greater level than I am are still capable of putting one foot in front of the other. It’s not logical, it’s supernatural. But let’s not forget….we are talking about the Creator of all things here!

“Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things” (Joel 2:21). Yes, even greater things than you or I can ask or imagine… HE IS doing them. He always has and He always will. Let’s lean into that today friends.
